What to Write in a Thank You Teacher Card (End of Term and Christmas)
Teachers, teaching assistants and nursery staff do so much more than teach. A thank you card at Christmas or the end of the school year is one of the few things they genuinely keep, often for years. Here are some ideas for what to write, whether it's from you or from your little one.
Thank you messages from parents
- "Thank you for everything you've done for [name] this year. You've made such a difference, and we're so grateful."
- "[Name] has grown so much in confidence this year, and that's down to you. Thank you."
- "Thank you for your patience, kindness and endless supply of stickers."
Messages written by children
Short and simple is perfect. Let them write it themselves if they can, spelling mistakes and all.
- "Thank you for being the best teacher ever."
- "I will miss you next year. Thank you for helping me learn."
- "You are kind and funny and I love your class."
Christmas card messages for a teacher
- "Merry Christmas and thank you for a brilliant first term. Enjoy a well earned rest!"
- "Wishing you a very happy Christmas. Thank you for all the hard work this term."
- "Merry Christmas! We hope Santa brings you lots of coffee and a quiet New Year."
For a teaching assistant or nursery key worker
- "Thank you for all the extra help, care and cuddles. You've made such a difference to [name]."
- "We couldn't have asked for a kinder key worker. Thank you for everything."
End of year and leaving messages
- "Thank you for an amazing year. [Name] will never forget you."
- "Good luck in your next adventure. Your class will miss you so much."
